In this course, we'll cover the patterns and usage of maqam rast, a beautiful yet surprisingly easy to follow maqam - the tune of Shaykh ash-Shuraim, al-Juhany, and many others. In this short course, we'll be using the same teaching methods that we use in our full Maqamat Blueprint program, breaking down the structure and patterns of maqam rast - visually - so that you can literally see the maqam, and you're not guessing how or what the tune should sound like. You'll learn four key patterns that will help you unlock - and then stay - in the maqam. Using our practice audio clips, you'll be able to understand these patterns theoretically and then put them into practice.
